Surrealism research

1.   Andre Breton,
2.   Max Ernst
3.   Rene Magritte

This is one of Andre Breton’s paintings. It is a very popular surreal painting. It was painted to represent his life and all the exciting and sad things that happened in it.

This is one of Max Ernst’s paintings. To me it looks like globs of paint that kind of resemble a shape of an animal are painting.

This is a painting by Rene Magritte. It depicts a man with the face of an apple. I really don’t know how this painting got so popular, because it’s so simple, but it still looks pretty cool.

Surrealism began in the 1920’s. The prolific thing that happened at the time was World War 1.

Surrealism started because during world war 1 people started questioning the difference between dream and reality and decided to start exploring this subconscious dream like world and started painting what they were seeing.

Most of the surrealists were from Paris.

In my opinion I think it is important for artists to do this because it kind of gives us a chance to see life in different aspects and we can be as creative as we want.
