FINALLY!!

Tea Party

Character Development Questions

What is their name?
My character's name is Ting-a-Ling like the sound of a bell. He is normally called Ting for short.
Where are they from?
He's from Doomersville a.k.a my own little world for my story.
What is their gender?
Ting is a boy...
Are they human?
Ummm... well that's kinda hard to explain but loooooong story short he was at one point.
If there are not human what are they?
Well he is basically the best way of describing what he is is that he's basically a mutant of some sorts.
What is their goal in life?
Well in my story to help the main character Suzy (pronounced like Susie) from the main villain Neo On. But I guess in the main scheme of things to live happily and become accepted.
How old are they?
Ting is 17 years old almost 18
What are their strengths?
Caring for others, having very high senses of hearing and smell, he is very good at bumping into random things.
What are their weaknesses?
The fact that he's blind so he's pretty clumsy, he isn't very good at fighting unless he is told what to do and when. He is a big sweet heart in a world of a lot of people who are very self concerned.
How is their hygiene?
Ting have very good hygiene! Have to keep clean and healthy to keep his senses razor sharp!
How much do they make a year?
Um Ting doesn't have a job.
What is their favorite food?
Ting LOVES Strawberry short cake!
What was the highest level of education they have completed?
Ting completed his schooling early he is very smart . He graduated at the age of 16.
Do they have any special talents?
Well when he had his eyes (yes he had them at one point) he could corrupt souls and turn a very good person into a horrid horrid soul less being and a horrid person worse. Now that his eyes are gone if he "stares" at you long enough you start to get uneasy, antsy, and overall feel like you're going insane.

Do they have any prominent features? Scar, nose, chin, hair color, bald spot, missing tooth?
Well he has long pointed ears that are very keen. He has literally no eyes, they are just two empty black sockets. His teeth are slightly longer and pointed then a humans. And lastly he with all the Doomersville residents have small glowing dots on their skin. Each design and color of these dots are different for each person, all color patterns mostly consist three different colors. Tings dots are light blue, green, and yellow.
Is there anything else that we need to know about this character?
There is a lot more about little Ting-a-Ling but that has to do with my story so you don't get to know until I start making the comic pages for it!

What makes a successful character?

A character that I though was very successful from my childhood was probably this little purple dog right her. This character was memorable for his crazy expressions and unique purple coloring. Even though Courage is just a mutt that Murial picked up in an alley who was written off by Eustace as a "Stupid dog!" Courage still loved and helped his owners out of every... oddly disturbing situation they got themselves into. Whether it be the creepy gypsy "lady", the evil Katz, to the Weremole Courage got them all out of the danger and back to their house in The Middle of Nowhere. The most successful thing about Courage in my opinion is the art style of not just him just Courage's entire world is very creepy and surreal. Being a person who even as a child liked things more on the creepy side I really enjoyed the animation. Also the HUGE range of expressions Courage had to show his fear, determination, or that he simply used to try to warn Murial of the creepy crawly that he had just seen. The story in it's self was a tad confusing in some episodes but some of the characters like Katz would reappear so that tied their devious plans back into the story again. Though Courage is scared of what ever creature decided to terrorize the Middle of Nowhere he still got over his fear and saved his family. I think if my family was ever in true danger I would do the same as Courage. Of course I'm not a purple dog that can make insanely impossible expressions to get my point across, but deep down I think we all have a little Courage inside of us.
