Inspiration Analysis-

I think a turbulent, yet fun friendship may have inspired this story. Maybe some kind of relationship. I guess you could say…they were like night and day.

The moral of the story here: is to try and look at the best of both things.

The climax of the story is when day and night were looking at the radio tower listening to the song. I think this because; one of the many morals in the story is being shown there.

In the scene where they’re both looking at the sunbather, the colors contrasted with the opposite times of day yet they were bright and cheery because they were showing Night’s first glimpse at a lady. It was a happy time for them.

Story-
There’s a little bird in this story.  The bird grew up but had no one to teach it how to fly. It’s whole life it remembered having no one to teach it how to fly, so it spent its entire life teaching others because it didn’t like that feeling. One day, it meets a bird who refusing to pass on the kindness. The not-so-kind bird is still learning how to fly; it falls and gets hurt. Because it refuses to help other birds, the other bird refuses to help it. Realizing how it feels to have no one to help it and no one to teach it to fly properly. It decides to chirp one last time before the other bird decides the little bird has learned its lesson. It tends to the little birds injured wing. After that, in order to help other birds feel that feeling; he spends his life helping other birds learn to fly.

Moral: Treat others how you want to be treated and pass on the kindness.
Climax: When the little bird if fearing that no one will come, and the bigger bird decides it has learned it’s lesson.
I intend on using a lot of blues and greens. If anything, it’ll be slightly monochromatic.

WIP Detailed Wolf Sketch

Here is my detailed wolf sketch for the past two weeks. The fur inside the body was deleted a couple times. But what ever it wasn't hard to finish it. Now onto the hind and front legs, then finally the finishing of the head.

Animation

The scene opens up in a martial arts/dojo type scenario, there is a pupil and a master. The master trains the pupil to be the best swordsman he/she can be. The pupil practices on watermelons by slicing them up and about. With each slice, the master shakes their head no, the cut isn’t perfect. The student is forced to repeat the slice over and over until the master approves of their work. All this time the student fills with anger and frustration while the master sits calmly. Nearing the end of the animation, the student focuses intently, and slices the melon in two, a perfectly level, and even cut. The master nods their head in approval. Practice makes perfect, as it seems.

My Story

Jesse's Story

story

Story

The scene opens to a young child holding a dusty old lamp. The child rubs it and a genie appears. The genie offers the child three wishes, and he/she wishes for a dragon. The genie disappears and reappears with a dragon in chains. Moved with sympathy, the child wishes that the dragon could be free. So the genie sets it free. The child uses their final wish to go home. Next thing you know it, cities are crumbling and on fire because there’s a dragon running loose.

Be careful what you wish for.

"A Mugger's Comeuppance"

So there is this guy enjoying himself, just walking about downtown and another man appears and proceeds to mug the guy. The mugging goes pretty smoothly but when the mugger runs away from the guy, for some reason, there’s this giant man that’s 20 stories tall, just chilling out next to some buildings and he kicks the mugger against a building, and walks off.

-The moral, the message, the thing-to-walk-away-with, if you will, is a typical karma-type deal. Where if you do bad things, bad things will happen to you.

-The place in this story that seems to be the most appropriate as a climax would be the reveal of the giant man and him kicking the mugger square into the window of some person’s apartment.

-The visual style, which I try to show as a city’s dingy back-alley ways at night during the first scene, showing the evil of what is happening, and the sun is be coming up in the last scene, displaying justice coming to the mugger in the form of a foot.

Storyboards - 150 points

Using the best of your concept sketches, begin quickly sketching out a series of storyboards that communicates your story. Storyboarding allows you to plan out how you will execute your final product, and whether or not the story is being effectively communicated.

      1. Using pencil and paper draw out a minimum of 15 slides that depict the primary movements and scene changes within your story. (10 points a slide = 150 points)

2. Scan and edit these drawing in photoshop.

3. Post your edited storyboards to the blog, and paste them into your portfolio process board.

Here is a storyboard sheet if you would like to use it.

Concept sketches – 100 points

Artwork by John Hom's

Exploring the look and feel of the world you’re about to create. Using a tablet, or pencil and paper draw out concept sketches of the following.

1. Draw two radical variations of your main character/s (40 points)

2. Draw two radical variations of your environment/scene (40 points)

3. Scan and enhance the quality of your drawings. Post these edited images to the blog and paste into your portfolio process board.

4. In both the blog and your portfolio process board, include a written statement that explains your visual decisions in regards to the look and feel of your character. (20 points)

The Worm (solo)

A worm takes its time moving from point a to point b, however is soon stopped by an unexpected foot coming to end its life. The worm seems to have met its demise. The foot and its owner leave to do what they initially left to do. The guts of the worm are left behind…then all of a sudden “POP!” the worm is back! It turns around on a hunt for the one who had done this. Using its natural stealth abilities it advances on its would be killer. It starts to grow. Larger and lager. Its now bigger then the man who had stepped on it only moments ago. Opening its mouth over the mans head it looks at the viewer and winks…

Moral of the story-Be nice or it might come back to bite you in the butt.

Climax of the story is when the worm pops back into life.

I’m hoping the use of bright colors will give it more of a cartoonish and light mood and feel.

Animation Inspiration

The Lollypop

A little girl/boy finds a lollypop on the slide and picks it up to eat it. Before he/she puts it in her/his mouth the other kids start chasing after him/her to get the lollypop. Surprised and scarred the girl/boy runs away from the heard trying to get away.  Exhausted he/she finds a safe spot to hide. He/she looks at the lollypop and smiles in relief. Then out of no were a bird plucks the lollypop from the girl/boy’s hands and flies away into the distance.

story...i think so far...

The boy is running, the puppy squirming in his hands "Just a little more boy," the boy says. the cops were quickly gaining suddenly one shouted "Jacob stop, you know your not supposed to go there!" "I dont care youll take him away from me!" screamed jacob. "You have to give him back jacob or else we will be forced to shoot," screamed the cop. Jacob ran on and on then one of the cops said "Jeramy your son has to be shot i am sorry." Jeramy screamed "NO!!" But it was too late the cop had pulled out a revolver and took aim. Jeramy screamed for his son to duck but the bullet was already fired. it hit and Jacob went down they went over and took the still squirming puppy away from the dead boy. Jeramy came over and was about to kick the other cops butt when his son moves. He runs over than gets sucked into the spiritual realm never to be seen again.

i changed my moral.

Two Sides of the halo

                                                          Two sides of the halo

There was a boy named Jason, he was an archangel who was the chosen one, he had two options. Destroy earth or save it. Save mankind, or kill it off. His father Michaels and his mother Cassandra had not much time on earth, so they said they would watch his actions from high in the heavens. The father watched the end result of his son’s actions, and is speechless at the final result…He did not expect his son to take those sort of actions. Maybe he did care about humanity after all and wanted to save it, he wanted to see what kind of civilization they would create. Jason had a nice time on earth and spared mankind, and defeated the darkness. Unfortunately though, he had to sacrifice himself in order to destroy the darkness. It is unknown what happened to Jason, but his parents fear for him, as they worry that he may take the throne of dark lord and become the new evil.

Courtney/Mikki The bunny and the rat

The Bunny and the Rat

Once upon a time a rat and a bunny where getting ready for a animal party. The bunny, raised in a home of rich and popular, was wearing a big silky pink bow around her groomed black neck. On the other hand the rat, lived with a outsider, the white fur was untidy and his teeth were sharp.  They owners look at each other with disgusted as they released their beloved pet with others.  The other animals were playing with a red ball and the two ran after it.  SMACK! Both the bunny and the rat collided with each other as they tried pounced on the ball.  The rabbit noticed that her once groomed was untidy and for the first time it felt nice, while the rat was rolled on the floor laughing at the black rabbit as her bow wrapped around him.   They hung out the rest of the party, just like their owners.

Only three are left, and they are so happy they didnt get eaten, they start dancing. But wait! Someone is coming! They put them in a plastic bag and took them home. When they get the that persons house they get thrown on the counter. Then the kids come running in and they see the cookies and they each take one. all the cookies died a terrrible death.

Blowing out of Proportion

A blowfish will be swimming in the ocean all by himself, until a man with a net comes and tries to catch him.  He finally freaks out so much that he blows up and starts to float into the sky.  He floats in the sky through the day and the night, until he hits something and pops.  He falls back to the ground and lands in the boat that was previously trying to catch him.

Water and Fire

The story starts on From a flower leaf with a dew drop on the leaf. that falls to the ground and a male water figure appears. He looks around and lightning hits next to him and a female fire figure is created. The two see each other, fall in love automatically and so the boy tries to touch the girls shoulder and they both just back from the burn/cooling pain. The girl and boy not wanting to leave each other hold hands tight, even though it is burning, and both their arms become obsidian like. After that the two walk away into the distance.

Cool stop motion animation idea

My Story with Tristan

Written Story (20 points)

Written Story (20 points)
Open a word document and write the script to a short story animation lasting a minimum of 15 seconds. The concept is up to you, but it must evoke an obvious emotion and tell a story/message.

Be thinking about all of the following
·       Stories and graphics must be school appropriate
·       Research and gather data as to what inspires animators? This should help you spark an idea for your own animation.
·       What is the moral/message of your story?
·       What is the climax of your story?
·       How will the visual style and color choices you choose enhance the story?

Upon completion of your story, copy and paste it into your portfolio process board under “my story”. Replace “my story with your title” and the post a snapshot of your portfolio process board to the blog.

Based on the Animation “Thought of You”

• What do you believe inspired this animation and how? The animation was most likely inspired by a desire for a partner, and influenced by the animator’s love of dace/

• What was the moral/message of the story? The message of the story is to wait for something that will in the long run, definitely be worth it

• Describe what you found to be the climax of the story. The climax of the animation is when the partner becomes a real, tangible person

• Choosing one seen from the film, describe how the visual style and color choices enhanced the story. A scene in which they were doing more complex dance moves is one I chose. It shows that the animator has definitely paid more attention to the movements and mechanics of the human body over the aesthetic appearance of the work
