3 early surrealist painters are Max Ernst, Salvador Dali, and Yves Tanguy.
What I see in Max Ernst painting is a skinny guy that looks like he hasn’t eaten anything in a while, he has a jacket and a top hat wit him, There a small house in the background, the door has the handle in the center of it, there’s 3 windows, he is in the Forrest, and he is picking up a tiny mouse.
What I see in Salvador Dali’s painting is 3 melting clocks, a little mountain running off the painting, a cloth on the ground in the shape of the horse, there’s something under the cloth and some of it is sticking out, a big cloud or dust storm in the background, and a giant mirror on the left running off the page.
What I see in Yves Tanguy’s painting is candles and other objects melted together in 3 different stacks, there is a shadow for each figure, the background is plane with a dark top contrasting into a light bottom.

Surrealism began in the early 1920’s and at that time World War 1 was happening.
The surrealism movement happened because Dada was exposed to the horrors of World War 1 and he wanted to “resolve the previously conditions of dream and reality”.

Most of the surrealists were from Paris. I think it is important to our culture because people have businesses and they have to make logos for there company and then they have to make a name so people will buy there stuff, it is important to our imaginations because we have to think what some of the pictures or paintings have in them and what the point they are trying to get across is.
