Independent Project

April 8th to May 21st, 2013
Seniors Due Date : April 8th - May 10th, 2013

The second semester of this class consist of an independent project that allows you to explore one or more of the mediums covered first semester. The primary difference with this semester is that rather then having the teacher provide most of the answers for you, you will now begin to develop independent technological problem solving skills. How these problem solving skills will benefit you is for seeking out a solution to a problem that occurs not only using computers, but life in general. To do this you will look to the Internet, the software help menu and your peers before you request my assistance. This is not to say that I will not assist you, but I want you to work on becoming an independent learner much like you will be doing after graduating high school.

The first step towards the independent project is that you will be creating your own blog where you will also be posting your process. The reason for creating your own blog is that it will allow everyone to focus on just your progress. You will also be copying these posts and pasting them to the class blog. This way everyone can see what the class is doing collectively.

Each of the following KEY OBJECTIVES will need to be answered on both, your blog and the class blog. This is how you will be assessed and graded on your assignments.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE KEY OBJECTIVES

• Create your own personal art blog (10 points)
• Independent Folder (5 points)
• Potential Project Idea/s
• Inspirational Images (30 points)

Create your own personal art blog (5 points)

Sign in on blogger and create a new blog for yourself. Feel free to design and color it the way you choose. You will be using this blog weekly to set goals and post weekly progress of your artistic process. Once your personal blog is complete copy and past the URL to the class blog so I can get a list of links to everyones blog.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Create an Independent Project Folder (5 points)

I would like you to create a new folder that contains your inspiration, word documents and project development and anything else that pertains to your process. You will burn a cd at the end of the year containing all of this work for your portfolio. This independent folder will be nested under your personal project folder on the art server.
