Walk Cycle Assignment = 20 points

Teams of 2

Mission:
Using a pre-existing rig, breath life into that character by animating it in a walk cycle and posting a video of your work onto the blog.

Each team member must create his or her own animated walk cycle. These characters must contrast each other’s mood, but use the same rig (e.g. happy vs. sad). The emotions are up to you to choose.

  1. the grown man has a slow walk because he has longer legs and is much bigger. The girl has a fast skipping walk because she is small and probably has a lot more energy.

  2. I think that the man walks more upright and strong because he is bigger and moves less. I think that the little girl move the way she does so that she can walk at the same pace plus she is a happy little girl.

  3. The man had a different structure then the girl, his rig was composed in to 4 different parts by the look of his rough cycle. The little girl had more parts including his hat. The man had a normal stride that was slightly confident, while the girl had a happy, hyper stride that keeps up with the speed of the man.

  4. compare: both characters have eyes closed. both characters are holding exes over their shoulders. both characters seem content...ish.

contrast: one is bigger and one is smaller. the man is heavier. the girl is lighter. girls strides are small mans strides are large. man is mellow. girl is hyper.

  5. The man as a calm and relaxed walking mood and the girl had a happy go lucky skipping mood. The man had longer strides vs the girl had short strides.

  6. Both of the rig's walks reflect their mood, size, and age. The girl is obviously happy because she is skipping and smiling. She is also smaller and lighter than the man so she has the ability and energy to skip. The man is walking without picking up his feet very much. It could be because he is older and doesn't have as much energy, he is not in a very good mood, or his larger size makes it more difficult for him to skip like the girl.

  7. The first rig of the man shows a stiff walk, like an average older man would walk. The girl rig walks like she is full of energy, so she can skip. Through the two rigs you can see the difference in age and gender, with is shown in movement by the man moving in longer strifes due to longer legs, and the girl walking in shorter strifes due to her smaller legs.

  9. The man has very good posture, if I were to put a line next to him it would go almost straight along his back. The mans emotion is Proud looking. The girl evokes a happy emotion through her happy skipping. This two characters display two different emotions through the way they walk.

  10. The rig of the older man shows a stout more calm older gentlemen. The second rig Show a much younger energetic girl that looks extremely excited. The Difference between these two rigs is The looks and movement. The older rig in this video is not as excited because it is an every day thing you can tell because the way he walks and looks. As the much younger rig looks extremely excited for it might be her first time.
