Art Analysis and why I want to do something like this.

This is a self portrait called, "The artist himself" by Piotr Wysocki. I'd like to do a realistic portrait. It seems like a challenge and I'd like to try it. The most difficult would be hair (I think). Shading looks realistic. A photographic reference would be necessary I think, so I can see the shading and massive detail. You can see the pores on his nose. The lighting on the face is on one side and dark on the other. I think the artist (pretty dang sure) did a self portrait. Self portraits, I feel, are very personal and only the artist knows what he was going for. To me, though, the artist was trying to show himself in the light when everything around him is in shadow. His hair looks wet.  It adds to the mystery in this work. This portrait raises questions for me, more than anything else. It's dark and mysterious. I really like it, it looks more like a photograph than computer generated. I would like to try at least one realistic portrait. It shows to me that computer art isn't just fun little cartoons.

This is a simple visual pun by Glenn Jones called "Snake Charmer". I'd like to do a collection of something like this. I'd like to keep it simple to breeze by the visual puns. I'll just have to come up with original ideas and original puns, which is going to be the challenge for me. I love how Glenn has hundreds of works like this, and he can continue to roll out more witty pieces. The art is simple but kind of tells you a joke. It has a good humored personality, which is something I like to keep in my own art. IE Fish Wife (which I STILL don't have back *cough cough ELMORE cough cough*) and my charcoal self portrait where I draw a completely embarrassing photo of myself and my first visual pun "Flash Drive" which was deemed inappropriate and had to change my idea.... I might do a Flash Drive pun 2.0, and try and make it better. Oh yes. Anyway, back to the picture. Glenn uses simple lines and simple shading, that still looks like what he was going for. I also admire his use of popular games, like Snake in this piece and Angry Birds in.... Countless other works. I really like this because it seems fun. It's kind of telling you a joke with a snake charmer and the game "Snake". Anyway, I want to do several other visual puns like this one.
