Week 2 - Nog Project
I met the minimums for my goal this week; I got one orthographic view into Maya, and began the basic mesh modeling. I chose to only create and import one image plane because of the complexity involved in drawing the others. I think that having a partially modeled fox to work off of and using real pictures as image planes will be a better idea.
Week 1 Reflection
Week 1 Reflection: So far I have not figured out what I would like the interior of the house to look like, but I have found some resource images that have inspired me. I began to draw a possibility of what our house could be. Weston has started his version and then we will all come together to a final conclusion. Brody has been thinking of some fantastic ideas for what the pool will look like and other concepts for the house.

My goal is to create a guy dancing “Melbourne Shuffle” of coarse I want to show people what is the fun of dancing and also what I want to include is “Color” to this. The style must be included, but i will only change the pants into shorts. I have an image of a guy wearing beige shorts, electro color shirt, the background will be Electro or Techtonik, and for the final part I will make my guy dance Melbourne shuffle and perhaps I will put in some Techtonik.

Artist Discovery
Meats Meier
This picture is actually part of a series that’s started with a bear and decomposes to nothing but a mechanical skeleton. In this picture there isn’t really just one main focal point, your eyes kind of jump around the whole piece. I like the border and how he put the bear decomposing around the edge. Meats uses a lot of mechanical elements in most of his works. I think he is trying to show that everything has a dark side or something you cant see with the naked eye. I like this picture because it is different and kind of creepy in its own way. http://www.3dartspace.com/
BANKSY
The second artist I chose is Banksy. He does a lot of street art with more
The second artist I chose was “Banksy” He is a street artist and uses a lot of propaganda in his works. He also uses a lot of random quotes and characters. All of his work is a play on original ideas and thoughts. The doctor listening through a stethoscope on the “I <3>

Large goal/overall goal: Our goal is to create a futuristic looking contemporary house crumbling either into a cruddy shed or into nothing. So one example would be this nice looking house but along the length of the structure, the house begins to deteriorate. What I mean is that the house will fall apart into debris/rubble. The other option would be to have this fancy house and then it would transform into a rundown shed. This option is more symbolic than the other. The concept being portrayed in this project is related to fame. In the second choice, the concept is in relation to fame and poorness.

Daniel W. Overall goal & week goal 1
I will be designing a skate shop. This skate shop will contain a wall of t-shirts, a wall of hats, and a wall of skateboards behind the cashier. There will be display cases through out the shop showing off the best boards. The environment will be the construction if the entire building with a skate park right outside of the building. There will be color and design on every aspect of the modeled shop. There will be a 3-5 second clip making the transition from outside to indoor.
This week I will be getting color on all of the T-shirts.

Weekly Goal - Week one 2/22/11
I hope to get an idea for my project and a drawn out sketch or something and get a couple of reference pictures.
Independent Project
I will be creating between 3 and 5 graphic designs for t-shirts. I want the designs to be colorful and wacky in design, very cartoony. Something that would stand out and make people want to buy it.
Week goal 2-22-11:
My goal for this week is to create my concept sketches. Look at the coloring, flowing, repetition and subject of each sketch, trying to find just the right idea for my project.
Overall Project Goals & Week 1
Independent Project Starting Goals
I will be attempting the modeling of a snowy mountainous landscape, the creating of a digital analog of a red fox, and the rigging an animation of the fox in that landscape. The end result will be a cinematic intro to my FoxTale logo, which can be seen at http://i.imgur.com/WZ08s.jpg. I will fully model the fox, which should be an interesting experiment in using maya’s fur tools. The snow on the landscape is something I haven't done yet either.
In total, this project will produce around 3-6 seconds of footage, which means that although I am only creating one scene, I will need to render around 72-144 individual frames. I have prior experience in video editing, so assembling the final product should not be too much of a challenge.
I will be calling this endeavor the “nog project” after the Welsh name fox fox, “llwynog”. Apart from the weekly blog posts, I will have a running progress log at http://stephenbelden.imgur.com/nog_project_development.
Week 1: Feb 21 - Feb 25
I will be modeling the fox first, before the landscape. By thursday I will have all of my orthographic views sketched an put into maya, and I will have a rough 3d modeling of that.
week 1
2/22/11
this week I hope to have my all my art work done and on the computer and simi colored on photoshop by Thursday.
Week Goals
Overall Goal:
My goal before the art show in April is to have at least one illustration done. I hope to get more than one done though because there are so many ideas and styles I want to try. Also, I want them to be of a good quality, but unique to me. I do not mind proportions, but they should be proportioned and still express a style I want to stick with. Not to mention I want to try out many programs to see which will be used to the best of my ability.
I am going to do a day of the dead skull illustration. I hope to have it colored in photoshop or a similar program. I hope to make a full scene, but the least I want is the skull.
Dias De Los Muertos
For my independent project I want to make a macabre day of the dead skull at a table. I want to make it look like an altar with candles and flowers around, with some birds to show a living side. I want to illustrate this and make it look fairly real. This is to help me develop my own style in the arts without rules of proportions and where things belong.
Week 1
2/7/11
This week my goal is to post my now finished fish on the blog. After that I will look up illustrations and try to find my direction for my independent piece. I hope to start this week on it.
This week I thought of my idea and developed it.
Week 2
2/15/11
I am going to do a day of the dead skull. I hope to have it at least sketched this week and some ideas for the designs.
Week 3
2/22/11
I hope to have my concept sketch at least half way done by Thursday. I have some things I want to add to it, such as birds and flowers, which might complicate it a little and take longer, but it will all be worth it if the piece looks good.
Reflection:
I got a good concept sketch of the skull, flowers, and birds. I have the image sketched a little more but I need to define it better.

Indpendent Project
Final project plan
Emily Ellbogen
Ryan Renfro
We are going to make an animated short scene based off “The Matrix”. IT will be around 10 seconds long.
Jordan will animate and rig NEO.
Ryan will animate and rig Agent smith.
Emily will animate the background environment and other random things if needed.
We are just no finishing up our sketches and will do goals next week
By April 8th we should finish all animating and rendering of the short flim.
For my independent project I want to model a U.S Navy Blimp that is around the era of WW11. I would like to make this in Maya, and would hope to make maybe a flying animation, with some still render shots. By April 8th I should have it completely modeled with its cabin and maybe even a landing pad/dock. The picture below is the kind of blimp I will be modeling.
Week 1:Feb 23-25
I would like to sketch some variations of the blimp that I will be creating in maya. I will hopefully get 3-5 variations done in this time period.

Independent Project
For my independent project I'd like to model an environment design in maya that will somewhat resemble the traditional buildings and canals of Italy. My goal is to design a small scene around a semi-traditional building which will be the main point of the scene. From there I'd like to add a canal, and additions to and around the building like a sidewalk and bridge leading down into the canal or another building.

the picture on the left is called the deference engine
it is done by an artist that goes by imphead i like his fifties and post mordern influences combined with the realistic back grounds on the use of muted organic colors combined with unatural colors
the photo on the right is labeled the angel of death by manuhell its use of dark colors reminds me of art of the black death with rennascance oil painting techniques

artist discovery 2
The second artist I discovered was David Terrazas. I think that he takes great pictures. In his albums, some of his photos are of cities and they really give you an inside look on what life is like in these places. The photo on this post is taken in Madrid, I really like the way it looks. Overall I don't think there is any thing I don't like about David's pictures. There are a few of his pictures that were taken in black and white and they are very fascinating. I love black and white pictures so that's why I like this artist so much.
