•
What do you believe inspired this animation and how?
•
What was the moral/message of the story?
•
Describe what you found to be the climax of the story.
•
Choosing one seen from the film, describe how the visual style and color
choices enhanced the story.
* Some people believe that dolls can trap human souls even through the touch.
ReplyDelete* Stealing has it's consequences.
* Where the Doll version of Alma moved farther back into the room.
* The *Scene* where our point of view becomes that of the Doll Alma. showing us what dolls could see like if they were alive.
1. Maby a creepy childhood memory or dream involving dolls inspired this, by giving the artitst a idea on what touching a doll of yourself does.
ReplyDelete2.the moral is don't be selfish.
3. the climax is when she touches the doll
4. when she entered the doll house , the dark and gloomy colors enhanced the story to show that there was something off, or wrong with that place
1. i think it was curiosity because it can get u in messed up situations.
ReplyDelete2. use sense over curiosity
3. when the girl touched the doll.
4. when her eyes moved they made it seem as if it was from a horror film.
1. I believe the artist fear for dolls or a creepy feeling about dolls inspired the animation. They portrayed this by dolls of children that are trapped forever in a room with other doll children.
ReplyDelete2. The message of the story was curiosity killed the cat. But in this case, Alma was the cat.
3. The climax of the story was when the Alma touched the doll.
4. One scene from the film that was really stunning was when the girl went into the room with all the dolls. All the dolls were very detailed and so was the room, the outside, and Alma.
1. I think the movie Chucky inspired this animation but turn it into a child version. Because it involved dolls take people.
ReplyDelete2. Don't go after toys of you that you want in creepy looking buildings.
3. I found that the climax of the story to be when he/she was about to touch the doll a first tme on the table before the riding the bike doll fell on its side.
4. I would say the scene when he/she walks into the creepy shop how the color on the inside looked like it as never been dusted and it almost had cob webs in the corner
Alma
ReplyDelete1. This animation was probably inspired by an experience the animator had as a child. He probably thought dolls were very life like and should be given movement.
2. Moral of the story, don't go wondering into places you don't belong in, something bad might happen (You probably won't turn into a doll though.)
3. The climax was Alma touching the doll and being transferred into the doll.
4. The little village had very cold colors such as white, brown, gray, black, and so forth to fit the winter feel.
1. The creator of the animation may have seen a store like the one in the animation and decided to make the animation based on a childhood fear
ReplyDelete2. Don't vandalize or trespass on property that's not yours
3. I think the climax of the story was when the door closed
4. The color them in the beginning was happy but in the shop the colors were more dark and gloomy showing that the shop was not a good place
1.The cold, and creepy setting. Was something that could've inspired them with the creepy dolls.
ReplyDelete2.Don't walk into a doll store.
3.When the girl walked into the store trying to find the doll.
4.At the end when she went inside the doll. All the different things she saw, and how she saw them. Also the colors of the dolls and detailed on the face and hair.
1. I feel that the animators wanted to create an animation that was inspired by something creepy and eerie. The subject matter that they felt could communicate this eerie subject matter was the use of porcelain china dolls.
ReplyDelete2. I feel that the moral of the story is to not be driven by "want", and to not let curiosity get the best of you.
3. The climax of the story in my opinion is when Alma reaches out for the porcelain doll of herself, and some how magically transforms and becomes trapped within the toy.
4. The colors of the animation were were desaturated in order to communicate a cold and lifeless world. For instance if they animators chose bright saturated colors, the film might not have been to eerie do to the joyfulness full colors can emit.
1. I believe that it was inspired by watching a little kid fall in love with a doll or toy and they liked the idea of an innocent little kid have something happen to them when they get there doll or toy they love.
ReplyDelete2. Don't trust a doll that looks like you!!!!!!! And perhaps not to get whatever you want that life is meant for you to get everything that makes you happy.
3.When she was climbing the shelf to get the doll and she finally touched it with all the dolls watching her.
4.When she was looking through the window the person got darker as it leaned into the window when inside was dark while there back was light because the sun/ bright snow shined on it. It added depth and detail into the story making it seem more life like
1. Creepy dolls stealing souls.. kinda like chucky
ReplyDelete2. Don't touch things that aren't yours and stay out of creepy areas
3. When the doll moved for the last time and she started to climb the shelf
4. The color and look of the store/place with all the intricate dolls. The dolls looked to real, which gave the story an aery feel.
Alma. 1. I believe that the animation was inspired was caroline the movie that the girl traveled to a different world or the legend of what does were made for, where dolls were vessels for the spirits that no longer had a body, or maybe the haunted doll named Robert, those are the most liking things I can come up with 2.The moral or message was don't go into a creepy story that has nothing, but moving dolls. 3. I think the climax of the story would be the doll banging on the door trying to tell her to leave. 4. When Alma went into doll thing ( I don't know what to call it) there were a lot of dark colors giving the eerie feeling of something bad is going to happen, the visual style is that was creepy and lifeless besides the eyes.

ReplyDelete1) I think the creepy dolls that they used inspired the film. So many movies use that style of doll and so did this one and that is why i think that is what inspired this.
ReplyDelete2) That you should not be too curious
3) The climax I think is when the little girl actually touched the doll.
4) When she first enters the store the lighting and colors all dim and go from bright to dark, however the doll that looks like the girl is the brightest and that makes it the main focal point for the viewer.
* I believe that girls loving dolls inspired this animation because in the short clip the girl loved the doll that looked like her.
ReplyDelete* The moral of the story is be careful of what you might get into.
* The climax of the story was when the little girl was reaching for the doll.
* When the girl was out side and saw the doll for the first time her nose was red. By having her nose red shows us that it is cold outside and because there is snow on the ground.
1. I think it's based off of a childhood experience of the creator.
ReplyDelete2. Moral: Don't graffiti in front of creepy doll shops.
3. When she touched into the doll.
4. The scene where she enters the doll shop, the colors changed to be dark and gloomy, giving it the horror movie feel.
1. i think it was curiosity because it can get u in messed up situations.
ReplyDelete2. use sense over curiosity
3. when the girl touched the doll.
4. when her eyes moved they made it seem as if it was from a horror film.
