The reason why I chose to do this is because it is random and obscure just like me, you can never tell what the picture really means and you can never tell what I mean or what I am going to do.

Who: One of the most famous early surreal artists was Andre Breton who was very famous for his belief that surrealism was above all a revolutionary movement.
Another one is Jean Arp who was very famous for winning prizes from the year 1954 to the year 1965 for his sculpture artwork that he always made surreal. He now has a foundation based off of his artwork.
Thirdly, Pablo Picasso who was very famous for his many different ways he did surreal art work, for example he did cubism to distort a regular picture into something that looked human but all distorted.

In this picture made by Andre Breton I see lots of different things but none of them should be there. For example I see a head and face made up of pipes, scraps of metal, weapons, and lots of other things that should not be there and especially bundled all together like that. Also, I see two pink creatures in the background that appear to have made the face but that animals are pink and look like cats or mice and that should not be that way little alone the fact the appear to have made the face.

This sculpture was made by Jean Arp and this sculpture is hard to make out, it all depends on how you look at it and what your mind and eyes see. For example I can see a torso with no head but it appears to have shoulders and thighs. Now if I were to move a little then the sculpture might appear to become something else like part of a tree or maybe for the people who have a very small and limited imagination they might see nothing at all. That is the weird thing about this is because once you think you see what it is then your mind or eyes will see something else and contradict what you see.

This picture was made by Pablo Picasso, and this is a weirder picture because you know what it is and you also have an idea of what it is made out of but it almost feels real so it gives you that edgy feeling. To me I see a woman playing a string instrument but it almost feels like she is made out of the wall behind her but the wall and the woman are both made out of paper it seems like.

The Surreal Art Movement began in the 1920’s and was in-fact best known for visual art works and writings. The movement went through both World Wars but some surreal artists say that after WW2, the surreal artist movement died off.

The reason why it started is because artists wanted to create this dream world or other world pictures and writings because they believed it would pave the way for the future of art.

Back then almost all surreal artists came from Europe, some did come from America but most came from Europe.

It inspires younger people to carry on this kind of art and push the limits of ones mind. It is very healthy for young minds to grow at a young state
