Francis Picabia.
The three paintings I choose:
This painting is by Francis Picabia I liked this painting because you can see a bunch of faces attached to one face. It's like one mash of body parts, skillfully put together into something amazing |
This painting is by Salvador Dalì. I see elephants being reflected from swans on the water. The trees look like the elephants legs, whilst the swan's bodies are the elephants head. |
The Surrealism movement began in the 1910’s and the early
20’s, during World War One.
The surrealism movement occurred because dada artists wanted
to dig deep into their subconscious and paint something from deep inside.
A lot of surrealist painters came from Europe.
In my opinion it is important to our culture our
imaginations for artists to provide imagery to the public because we have to
look deep into the artwork to see the meaning behind. It is important to our
culture because one painting can change the world.
