3 Early Surreal
artists

Leonora Carrington: Lets speed up 30 years.
Leonora Carrington was a British-born-mexican artist.

Art Depiction
The
persistence of memory:

In this picture Salvador shows a vast landscape
empty and ready to be filled. Almost… Unlimited. Everything is slowly melting
to a halt… Memories forgotten but always stuck in place. A new horizon ready to
appear and refill the wasteland that was once beautiful
When
The Surrealist Art movement began in the early
1920’s. The idea was to “Resolve the previously contradictory conditions of
dream and reality.” It happened during World War 1
Why
The surrealist movement was
a reaction to the destruction of World war one.
Where
The most important center of
the movement was thought to be Paris.
Opinion
In my opinion the public
should be shown imagery like this to spark the imaginative gears and motors of
the mind. Surreal art shows people how their dreams can be transformed into
art.
