video game cover art
This is my video game cover, I couldn't think of a title, or how to change the font in photoshop. If I knew, I would've given it a title.
surreal art project
I did this because I just kept finding really cool images to put in. I tried to make it look as cool as possible by making it look really extreme and exaggerating the guy falling as much as I could.

Video Game Box Design Assignment
Today you will copy and paste one of the two game system boxes to your desktop. You will open this image in Photoshop, and photomontage your own original game idea over the pre-existing box graphics.
At the end of class you will post your final game designed box onto the blog for 10 points. This assignment must be completed today, as we are moving onto Adobe Flash animation when I return on Thursday.
Please be respectful to my sub and I'll see you soon,
Mr. E

System
I had a dream. Locked in a cage while those that were high in power rose and took over. They left nothing for us. They put of in cages and kept us like pets. One of us tried to escape. and as the overseers watched they just laughed. They just assumed he wasn't smart enough to escape and they let him try. When he finally did, he came back for us. We took over. Toppled everything. We were the system. The mood is dark.
Leonor Fini:
This painting has several different creatures within it. He uses the body shape of a rooster,
but includes the textures and patterns that you would find in a dragon or
lizard. He uses a shrimp for the tale.
By adding a human head to the creature, he kind of makes it
personal. The painting makes you
think about what Joseph Fini was thinking.
Louise
Bourgeois: This painting takes your mind for a trip with the contrasting
colors. The boots on top of the
stilts in the water make you wonder what point he was trying to make. Was he trying to show walking on water?
Or, perhaps he could be trying to show garbage or people to stranded in the
middle of no where.
Joseph
Cornell: This beautiful painting looks like it could take place in two different
places: space and the ocean. The
small, white dots look like stars, but the sea looking creatures brings you
back to the ocean. The woman
mermaid thing looks completely at peace, even though it is dark and scary
looking around her. The colors
help make a point. Her pink dress
just makes her look happier and more at peace. The dark monsters with the red in their mouth make them look
that much more threatening and dangerous.
When: The
surrealist movement began in the late 1910’s and 20’s during WWI
Why: The
surrealist movement began as literary art and eventually developed into
different forms of art. It was
created to unleash the imagination of the mind and express the what ifs of the
world. Many of the ideas came from
Sigmun Freud and his thoughts of the subconscious.
Where: Many of the first surrealist artists
were from Europe. Some came from
America, but many were French.
Surrealism has
opened up many people imagination.
It has spread though our literature and televisions. It’s what makes so many thing intreging
to us. We cant help but wonder
what would happen if this happened or that happened. What if we turned an innocent doll into a murdering creature. It opens our minds to the endless
possibilities. It’s what made us
begin to create things instead of just living with the way things are.
The reason why I chose to do this is because it is random and obscure just like me, you can never tell what the picture really means and you can never tell what I mean or what I am going to do.
Who: One of the most famous early surreal artists was Andre
Breton who was very famous for his belief that surrealism was above all a
revolutionary movement.
Another one is Jean Arp who was very famous for winning
prizes from the year 1954 to the year 1965 for his sculpture artwork that he
always made surreal. He now has a foundation based off of his artwork.
Thirdly, Pablo Picasso who was very famous for his many
different ways he did surreal art work, for example he did cubism to distort a
regular picture into something that looked human but all distorted.

In this picture made by Andre Breton I see lots of different
things but none of them should be there. For example I see a head and face made
up of pipes, scraps of metal, weapons, and lots of other things that should not
be there and especially bundled all together like that. Also, I see two pink
creatures in the background that appear to have made the face but that animals
are pink and look like cats or mice and that should not be that way little
alone the fact the appear to have made the face.

This sculpture was made by Jean Arp and this sculpture is
hard to make out, it all depends on how you look at it and what your mind and
eyes see. For example I can see a torso with no head but it appears to have
shoulders and thighs. Now if I were to move a little then the sculpture might
appear to become something else like part of a tree or maybe for the people who
have a very small and limited imagination they might see nothing at all. That
is the weird thing about this is because once you think you see what it is then
your mind or eyes will see something else and contradict what you see.

This picture was made by Pablo Picasso, and this is a
weirder picture because you know what it is and you also have an idea of what
it is made out of but it almost feels real so it gives you that edgy feeling.
To me I see a woman playing a string instrument but it almost feels like she is
made out of the wall behind her but the wall and the woman are both made out of
paper it seems like.
The Surreal Art Movement began in the 1920’s and was in-fact
best known for visual art works and writings. The movement went through both
World Wars but some surreal artists say that after WW2, the surreal artist
movement died off.
The reason why it started is because artists wanted to
create this dream world or other world pictures and writings because they
believed it would pave the way for the future of art.
Back then almost all surreal artists came from Europe, some
did come from America but most came from Europe.
It inspires younger people to carry on this kind of art and
push the limits of ones mind. It is very healthy for young minds to grow at a
young state
The world lost in time
This is my photomontage, it sets the mood as a sense of wonder, yet it has that old time feeling that it lost in time or another planet. This world hasn't been destroyed by disasters, everything that from castles to peaceful leaving with the world around them. The Castle is the thing that lost in time that makes it feel like the middle ages, but the two men look like men in 2013. The world is trapped in the past and future, the future is the telephone booth and the boys. It has a calming air around it, everything is just laying down or staying at something, the boy in the shadows is trying to see the sleeping wolf without disturbing it. I guess it might be something that people image to leave reality for just a few minutes.
In this image, I tried to portray a nice happy place to be. The sun is shinning, Buddha is is the sky, wait....WHAT? Anyway....back to the story there are two beautiful air balloons in the sky aaaand one of them is upside down. How could this be?! Lets just try to finish the story. We have a lovely dog guarding an underground house? ok...Well the only thing normal in this image is the woman taking a picture in the picture. PICTURECEPTION.
I wanted the mood to be happy so i used all images that were brightly colored and i added the animals because usually animals always have positive affects. I also added Buddha because he just looked so happy. The woman in the picture is suppost to represent me, taking the picture. :)

In my image it starts out as
a serious image were people are walking down. But then all theses different
things come out to these people. A rainbow to bring color to their day. A
chicken to bring a joke or two. The bird to hear its beautiful song. A strange
house to make a story. The eyes to give a feeling of always feeling watched.
The mood is sad but then with all the things it becomes a happy story with
imagination and wonder. The reason
it starts sad is because it’s a dark setting and people just walk to let go of
the city life and to think. Its ends up happy because all the bright colors
that pop out from the dark image and random things, that would make people
laugh and into a better mood or bring a little smile to there face, the people
are able to make there own story of why the different things came.
Freak of Society
This is my photomontage project, the mood I set in this is how we feel sometimes. We feel rejected out of society and want to join in, but the thing we mostly want or need is out of reach. This leopard gangster may seem out of place and ridiculous at first, but think about it, you were in his place when you felt like a freak. You thought that you were so much of a freak that you had to hide it from the rest of society, and were afraid to show your true face to others.
In this image, the world that we know, is almost the opposite. Animals have human like qualities, and the people have animal qualities. Even the trees have human eyes, all the while looking as if evreything is normal to the person and animals in the image. Although the natural world will continue as normal in this
what in the what?!
DIMENSIONAL TRAVELS AT THE BEACH OF INSANITY!!!!
i think i can easily say i gave the reader a sense of wonder and confusion and possibly astonishment the woman is walking she only sees the frog but if she was to look up and back away BAM!!!! she would stumble and turn and rum thinking she was going crazy little did she know was that when she accidentally drank some of its water she got the full force of THE BEACH OF INSANITY!! thus the strange color and Pikachu and etc. hope ya like it!!
Final photoshop
The mood is change. The story is animals changing into animals that have different ability than the animal it is or change into a better form. It is the time of change or evolution. The fox is turning into a small dog so it is change, from a animal eating leftovers of a dead body to a house dog. The owl is turning into a raccoon so it is change, from a animal that hunts little animals to a animal that will almost eat anything of human and natural food. The last two are bugs are turning into a high type of evolution of bug (has anyone seen starship troopers?) which is bigger and smarter. Their evolution just might start a war with the human race. Changing animals into different animals or insect into something different can be surrealism.
Surreal Photo Montage: Who Needs Gravity
In this Photomontage I really went for the "Well, this isn's very good... Oh well" mood. In this image, the universe seems as if it's falling apart, and physics no longer applies. There's a man skateboarding, which looks rather normal by itself, but there is a rather large man leaning against what looks like the wall and ceiling. Off in the background there is a women hanging onto one of the many beams in the background. The sky is overcast, and down in the corner you can see the universe itself, breaking down.

Photomontoge by Taylor Wallin
This Photomontage is to me a murder mystery with the dark lightness and the hand coming out of the bush it gives the scene a creepy feeling. the sign for bears shows that if the body id found it could have been a bear who did it. that is why this scene is a murder mystery to me that is the mood i get mystery.
Photomontage
The mood of this image is scared and terrified, the people are running away from giant spiders and i think thats pretty terrifying. I chose to have three spiders instead of one so there was a sense that the people are surrounded with only one path to escape yet they don't know what lays ahead.
Photomontage
I feel that i have succesfuly portrayed the mood of scared and amazed. i think i have succesfuly showed the because the people on the roof look scared because its a black hole and right by it it a planet being destroyed and is being pull and they are wondering if the earth would be pulled in with it.
Surreal Art Project
This image displays a random combination of objects. My overall goal was to show a type of urbanization towards the forests. Something kind of fun and cool.
Surreal art By: Andii Brambila
This Project is the passing of Seleana Quentanela Perez The best female hispanic artist of all time & the story in this project is how i still look up to her & others as well that look up to her... & also its how her soul is very bright & that she is in a better place , very peaceful , bright . joyful , & BEAUTIFUL . Its also a mixture of Fantasy & Reality
Surrealism
This is my finished surreal image. I Believe that I have successfully created the feeling of crumbling. The entire feeling of the photo is that everything breaks down eventually. The crumbling planet at the desintigrating flower along with the shadows casted by the collapsing elements gives the viewer a feeling of concern, or confusion. The planet is far too close, and it falls to pieces around the mountains and into the river. The stormy clouds and arid grasslands add to the distant feel, and the effect of ending. The way I organized it was to give off the feeling of the end. Because it would all come crashing down eventually. Everything does, everything will.
My most effective moon creating element in this picture is color. While the city below is colorful, the forest just behind the door is even more so. The grey trees are like the many dull and uneventful days, and the aurora carrying the men away represent dreams.
This image changed a lot from it's original version. When I altered it, I did so with more of a theme in mind.
Never settle for second best. It may be difficult to reach, but there's a brighter future just beyond the horizon.
Photomontage Written Reflection
*** Post your final Photomontage to the blog and accompany it with a written reflection that justifies the mood, story, and choices in successfully creating a surreal image.***
