Research, defining, compare and contrast. (Marcos)

Symbolism means using images or pictures to represent ideas, using images to get your idea across helps a-lot since pictures catch peoples attention.

Logos are used worldwide by all kinds of different people; they are used as an emblem to represent them, so that when people see it they think of them. Even in different languages logo's don't vary much besides the actual language.

Symbolic images are used to represent an idea unlike logos which are used to represent companies and products. Symbolic images are often pictures or drawing they are not created by computer very ofter, but logos on the other hand are created almost only on computers.

If you learn how to create your own logos then you can use this skill if you open up your own business, or you can create logos for people as a career.

How Symbolism Works:

Symbolism is using words or images to represent a person, place, object, or idea.  It can compare two like or unlike things, using color, shapes, and other elements to give them both meaning. For example, a red rose could represent love. 

How Logos Work:

A Logo is a visual piece of artwork that represents or symbolizes a person, place, thing, or idea.  It is the face of a business or person.  It gives people a feel of what your company is or stands for.

The Difference Between Symbolism and Logos:

The Logo is a clear mark of something.  It can contain names and art, Symbols are what gives things meaning.  For example, a red rose could represent love, while a yellow rose could represent joy or happiness.  The different colors and shapes give things a symbolic meaning. Logos and Symbols go hand in hand because, symbols can be incorporated into the logos.  For example, the Nike swoosh is a logo, but it’s a symbol of a Greek goddess’s wing, and the name Nike is the name of the Greek goddess of victory. 

The Learning Process of the Logo:

It is important to learn the value of a logo incase we ever want to start our own business or go further in graphic designing. It makes us think about what the logo really means.  What the colors and shapes represent, and it makes us further appreciate the meaning of a logo.

Eat innovations is a food place in Newport Beach.  The logo is really amazing, because the negative space plays with your mind, and you eventually see the spoons and other shapes.

Sherwin Williams is obviously a paint company, but I think there logo is really cool.  Thier motto is cover the earth, and they take the colors from all over the world and turn it into paint.

Everyone knows Starbucks by their logo, but behind their logo is a lot of conspiracy.  The lady is a two-tailed siren.  Before the company made it big, you could see a lot more of her body.  They eventually covered her body more and changed the whole look of the logo.  I like this logo because it makes you curious about what the lady is or why they chose this logo.

 1. Symbolism is the use of symbols to represent ideas or qualities.

Logos are a company’s design that can be recognized.

Symbols and logos are very similar but logos represent what a company provides and symbols represent a single idea of a certain thing.

The value of the learning process in a logo design is that when we get older if we want a company of our own then we know how to create a logo of our own. 

Baskin robbins logo represents the initials of the company but it also provides the number 31 in pink to tell their costumers how many flavors of ice cream they have. 

 

 

The amazon logo represents its company with an arrow going from A to the Z, suggesting that it sells everything form A to Z.

Toblerone Swiss chocolate features the Matterhorn Mt. In the mountain you can see a bear inside the white space of the mountain. The bear is the one that represents the "canton" of Bern, where Toblerone comes from.

Logo Assignment Parts 1 and 2

1. Symbolism is the expression of an idea using words and images, but not by just coming out and saying it. Symbolism makes you think of what is trying to be relayed through the image.

2. A logo is a mixture of Images and text that showcases what an entity does.

3. Symbolic images and logos can be the same thing, but they aren't always. You can have a very nice logo that is very symbolic, but that doesn't mean every symbolic image is a logo. Logo's express what an entity does, and symbolic images are often seen as just art.

The Google Logo: One of the worlds simplest logos. Just plain text with four different colors.

The deavianART Logo: Another simple logo. The logo displays how deviantART, as an entity, is abstract, even their logo.

The Apple Logo: The apple logog is by far, once the simplest logos out there. IT's just an apple, symbolizing what kind of computer they make.

I think Sector Nine did a great job with this logo because when you see this logo and then later anything with a nine ball you would think of this company.

Nike also did an good job with there logo because when people see a swosh or anything like it they think of nike.

Apple once again did a good job with there logo because  it is universal. if a person sees an apple they also think of apple computers.
