This is what I worked on for most of spring break.
I tried doing this is maya first, but the physics engine in maya is ridiculously slow. Even just a 16 second test render took 23 hours to render. I moved to blender, which I am MUCH happier with. It can simulate rigid body physics interactions at near real time, wich was essential for al the trail-and-error it took to get this animation to look right.

So much for working on my final project... But this was fun, and I learned a lot.
