Frida Kahlo:

 The Wounded Dear by Frida Kahlo, was meant to show her pain and suffering due to her injuries. she was in a buss accident injuring her self, and breaking her right foot  and right leg in eleven different places, the deer is an aztec symbol for right foot. It was also a reference to her heritage.

 This painting The Persistance of Memory, could possibly mean that when we are sleeping or unconscious the illusion of time does not exist, only memories continue.

Max Ernst:

 This painting by Max Ernst Shows references to his child hood , and fearfull anticipations of world war two, and the overall destruction of europe.
