I think cartoons are successful because of the colors used and the style to attract kids when they're young, but even as an adult cartoons are still awesome. Probably because of the content of the cartoon and the type of humor used. Anime for me is my favorite type of cartoon because of how much detail they put to make what would be fake in a real-world environment.
