Surrealist art movement started at the 1920’s and the prolific thing that happened then was surrealism was growing.

It occurred because they thought it would last for longer than it did.

Most were from Paris.

It is important because without surrealism we’d still be primitive even when the cavemen     were still alive and well still unevolved there it was they just didn’t know it in fact even before it was dubbed surrealism it was still around children’s doodles Leonardo’s earlier work everything was still surrealism even if we didn’t know it at all.

Frida Kahlo:

 The Wounded Dear by Frida Kahlo, was meant to show her pain and suffering due to her injuries. she was in a buss accident injuring her self, and breaking her right foot  and right leg in eleven different places, the deer is an aztec symbol for right foot. It was also a reference to her heritage.

                                                                                                                                                                    Salvador Dali:

 This painting The Persistance of Memory, could possibly mean that when we are sleeping or unconscious the illusion of time does not exist, only memories continue.

Max Ernst:

 This painting by Max Ernst Shows references to his child hood , and fearfull anticipations of world war two, and the overall destruction of europe.

Surrealism began in the early 1920's, to " resolve the previously contradictory conditions of dream and reality." During this time period , world war one was ending and world war two was beginning, it was also the time of the great depression.  Three of the best known painters of that time were Salvador Dali, Frida Kahlo, and Max Ernst.  In ,my opinion, this form of art is important to our culture and our imaginations because Without it, our country would not be artistic, it would be boring and without imagination and wonder, if this never happened we as a human race would not have enough imagination to create, invent, question things that happen in life, or even have a wanting for something new or different or exciting.

The September 17, 1926, suffered a terrible accident when a bus traveling this is collided by a tram. The result was failure of the spine in three places and the collarbone, three ribs, leg and right foot. A tube pierces sex hip to producing to a triple fracture of the pelvis would prevent having children. That accident would mark for life, having been her source of physical horrors and many times, the origin of the tragedy reflected in his art. but as you can see she's still attach to what she lost
