Mudbox Alien Head

An alien thing... I wasn't really sure what to make, but this turned out fairly well.

MudBox thingy

I'm just going to leave the person bald. I don't feel like working with hair on Maya. No. Just No.
Ok so this didn't turn out like I wanted it to but of well I was in a hurry.

Crappy Creepy Clown

So this is a quick clown I did in Mudbox. Not amazing but I like it. There are textures in his hair and eyes. I did make a head in Maya but it turned out bad and I didn't use it

prop models,

I did them in a hurry. so not the best,,

This is my mudbox guy(:

It didn't turn out as cool as I hoped it would but it's alright.

Kitty Cat

I made a cat. If I had time I would have made something more intricate. I had fun with this and will maybe do something like this for my independent project.

MudBox Sculpt

well this is my mudbox sculpt! it turned out pretty cool, i really like the texture on it. I could use a little work on the eyes but it turned out alright for my first attempt. The Tutorials were very handy and very entertaining haha. overall it was a good project for only having 4 hours of work into it!

The eyes didn't turn out how I wanted them but I was in a hurry. Haha
Crazy Alien demon from hell with spiky hair. Don't mess with him.
It took forever to make, but it was worth the effort.

D. Lewallen Creature: Tekhed

The top one is the Mudbox version. I tried to add color to it, but this is what happens every single time I add a paint layer! I've watched the tutorials and none of them so far help me learn to fix this problem. The one on the bottom is the original Maya version of my creature with color. Why do I have to use the only computer that suffers from such glitches?! It makes no sense because it shouldn't be happening! BLAR!!!

Mudbox Face

This is the head I created using Maya and Mudbox. Its funny looking but I like it.

Mudbox Head

I like how my creature turned out, I didn't really know what design I wanted at first but it looks good now. It wasn't to hard to make and was fun to make. I really like the way the spine thing turned out.

Bad Tea - 5 Second Animation

I was kind of inspired by Alice in Wonderland with the rabbit and the top hat. Hence the title "Bad Tea." It was time consuming but fun at the same time. I have more appreciation for computer animated movies and commercials now.

D. Lewallen's 22 Second Boat Race!

So this is my boat race in the "lame rough draft" formant. I did some rendering to make this look a lot more cooler graphic-wise, but I didn't know how to work that. So, here you go with brand-new boats, a floating REF-HED, and the world's glitchiest man alive!
Over all I am happy with this but there are a few kinks i'm going to work out next semester and if i choose this as my independent project im going to change the ending to be more exciting and maybe add some more props.

I think I'm done!

It took me all semester, but I finished. I want to do more computer illustrations.

animation

I think the head movements are a bit too fast but it turned out pretty good :) I also made it a bit too long but I think its okay.

5 Second Animation

So this is my animation. I'm really proud of it. I had to revise it from my original idea but it still turned out well.
I wasn't very excited about animating, I didn't understand how to manipulate a lot of the settings etc. so it was frustrating. However, as I continued with the animation I started to feel more comfortable with the idea of animations. In the end I enjoyed it, although I still like playing with the tablet better.

This is my animation. It didn't turn out as good as I expected but I still think it looks good.

5 Second Movie

I am pretty happy with how my animation turned out. It wasn't too hard just time consuming.
Hunter's T Rex walks, roars, and waves. It took a while to get it done but I like the way it turn out.

Setting up your maya scene

Open Maya and Go to File > Project Window. Click New and title your animation. Select the folder below the "new" button and choose the desktop and press select. Next you will press the accept button down below. The last step is to copy the rigs and props your going to use from the server into your "Scenes" folder within your project folder. This will keep everything organized and prevent problems from occurring.
